For the second time this week, the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division executed a search and seizure warrant, which led to the arrest of two men in Danbury.
Danbury resident Cristopher Marcos, 22, who was the focus of a weekslong investigation related to drug sales from his Osborne Street home, was arrested on Wednesday.
The initial investigation was launched after police received multiple complaints from local residents regarding his alleged illegal activity.
The investigation into Marcos led to search warrants that were issued for his person, car, home and phone.
Police said that while surveilling his home, investigators witnessed several suspected drug transactions which led to the apprehension of one customer, Danbury resident Ahmad Zahran, 22, as he waited in the drive-thru lane of a local restaurant.
According to police, at the time of Zahran’s arrest, investigators followed Marcos as he drove to a bank on Main Street, where he was apprehended before entering the building.
Marcos was found to be in possession of several hundred dollars in cash, a “substantial quantity of assorted illicit drugs,” and a .40 caliber pistol with no serial number.
It was later determined that Marcos lived in his home with his girlfriend and their 11-month old child, who were home when police executed the search warrants.
Marcos was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, risk of injury to a child and criminal possession of a firearm.
Additionally, Zahran was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Zahran was released and Marcos is being held on $150,000 bond. Both are due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
